Fundraising Campaign With MooreFitness

Over four months, I worked with MooreFitness on a powerful fundraising campaign in support of Clackmannanshire Women’s Aid. What started as a small idea grew into a multi-faceted campaign combining social media, community outreach, and a team challenge, ultimately raising £4,750 - far exceeding our original goal of £1,000.

Setting Objectives

I began the project by meeting with Hannah, founder of MooreFitness, to define the core goals of the campaign. We wanted to raise funds and awareness for Clackmannanshire Women’s Aid while fostering a sense of community through a shared challenge, which we decided would be the ultimate group hike up Ben Nevis. ⛰️🥾

Planning

I took the lead in planning the campaign structure, timeline and content strategy. This included:

  • Choosing a campaign name and theme

  • Developing a recognisable visual identity

  • Mapping out a timeline of activity leading up to the hike

  • Coordinating with participants, partners and contacts

  • Managing logistics the fundraising and training events

Social Media

I created and managed a multi-platform social media campaign that introduced each participant, told the story behind the cause and built momentum over several weeks.

  • Team introduction graphics and stories

  • Partnering with Scottish Women’s Aid to source statistics and impactful messaging

  • Posting updates on training progress and photos from training events

  • Creating engaging reels to bring the campaign to life

  • Managing all campaign content from scheduling, creating visuals and writing copy

Fundraising Event & Raffle

I planned and delivered a full day fundraising event at PureGym Alloa. I handled everything from logistics and promotion, to on-the-day coordination and gathering content.

  • Train the PT - gym members, friends and family donated to control an intense hour-long workout for PT Hannah, including the likes of burpees, pull-ups, sled pulls, lunges and more

  • A bake sale and donation stations

  • Guess the weight of the hiking backpack with voucher prizes

  • Attendance from Clackmannanshire Women’s Aid with their banners, flyers and other merchandise

To boost donations towards the end of the campaign, I also organised a luxury raffle which featured Harris Tweed bags, kindly donated by a local independent business. I created promotional materials to support online ticket sales and create a buzz around the upcoming hike.

Outreach & PR

I handled all outreach and fundraising partnerships, including:

  • Connecting with local outdoor outlets and shops to secure discounts and prizes

  • Reaching out to media outlets and the local council with press releases

  • Helping grow our community presence through word of mouth, posters and flyers

CONTENT CREATION

Throughout the campaign, I produced creative content to document the journey:

  • Consistent visual style for social posts and used the #BenNevisBesties hashtag, ensuring the MooreFitness social pages were on-brand and the posts were easy to find

  • Fun and authentic videos from our Ben Nevis hike, as well as group training hikes

  • Behind-the-scenes training footage and snap shots with Hannah/MooreFitness

  • Impact posts reflecting on what we achieved and why it mattered

The Result

Thanks to a team effort and a creative, strategic approach, we raised £4,750, almost five times our original target! It was an incredible experience to support a vital local charity while putting my skills in content, marketing, events and community engagement to use.
